Hello, hello! How was your weekend? Ours was pretty lazy....it was just too coooooold to do anything.<i> (Yes, I'm whining.)</i> We did manage to eat a batch of <a href="http://goo.gl/rFwpyn" target="_blank">Crockpot Potato Soup</a>, and I made biscuits twice, just so we could smother them in <a href="http://goo.gl/DURc6w" target="_blank">Strawberry Butter</a>. How's that for getting ready for bathing suit season?! <br /><br />I'm still picking my way through all the craft supplies, but the fun part is discovering things I forgot I had! Like plain notecards and ink pads. Simple Homemade Strawberry Butter

Every year, on the day before Thanksgiving, the kids and I kick off the holiday season with a trip to the fanciest department store in town, for lunch in their fancy little restaurant. The mall is practically deserted because everyone is busy preparing for Thanksgiving, so we eat, shop, and visit Santa in peace. <br /><br />It's been our tradition for the eight years since we moved back to Texas. We love it, and look forward to that special day all year. Unfortunately, this year, Babygirl got sick at the fancy restaurant. And not just a little sick. Obviously, that's been a bummer for her, but she was mostly upset that our tradition was ruined, because there's no way she'll ever step foot in that fancy little restaurant again!<br /><br />Truth be told, the best thing about our lunch was always the fresh strawberry butter with hot popovers. {DIY} Sweetheart Ring Dish

Hello, my sweet candy hearts, and happy February! I hope your weekend was grand. We did some garage organizing and craft-purging...doesn't that sound like a barrel of laughs? And by we, I mean me.<br /><br />Valentine's Day is one of those holidays where I don't intend to do much, then next thing I know, I've created a bunch of projects. Kind of like Father's Day last year...we ended up with a whole <a href="http://goo.gl/35vc8X" target="_blank">mustache week</a> dedicated to dad! But my wheels start spinning, especially when it involves DIY gifts, and I lose my ability to reign it in. Or tap the brakes, as <a href="http://goo.gl/lT1Yue" target="_blank">Sheaffer</a> likes to say. It's a good idea not to drink the night before because you want a steady hand for this.
