No, you aren't drunk (or are you?), or having an 'elderly moment.' And no, I'm not re-running this old post. Yep, we did, in fact, have another Art Party...two years in a row. But it's what our little birthday girl wanted, and who am I to argue with rainbows and paint?! I was smart enough to let a local art studio do most of the work this time (last year it was at home), but there was no way I was going to miss out on creating all new rainbow decor and treats!

I kept the food and drinks simple, with just fruit, a Chick-Fil-A nugget tray, and cake. And of course, used a rainbow color scheme everywhere possible!

Who doesn't love a crazy straw in a fizzy drink?! No one, that's who. I used mini plastic paint pails to tie in with the art theme, too. (Supply list at the bottom of this post.)

The tables were already covered with white paper, so we just threw down some colorful tissue confetti for instant decoration.

Fruit kabobs required more 'red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple' chanting.

There was a fair amount of candy spread throughout the party...the bright colors were just too hard for me to resist.

Once the food was ready, it was time for the guests to arrive!

I hope I get this reaction when my future grandkids see me! My kids love their Noonie. (Thanks for not passing me that shiny, thick hair gene, Mom.) *sarcasm*

Every guest had their own easel, canvas, brushes and paints.

The birthday girl had chosen a giraffe as the subject she wanted to paint, so the studio prepared the canvases with a sketch for the kids to use as their guides. Pretty smart, yes?

The instructor then took them through the steps of creating the giraffe artwork...telling them which brushes to use, when to switch colors, and how to create the strokes.

Even big brother had to get in on the painting.

The kids were mesmerized and painted quietly for over an hour! I don't know what was cuter...the paintings, or the artists!

Then it was eating time! I set the table using scrapbook paper as chargers, and simple white plates.

My plan was to use fresh flowers, but decided I didn't want to worry about transporting them, or the water spilling on the table. So I used cheap silk flowers in blue mason jars.

Along with more confetti and candy.

We're so proud of our spunky little miss! How is my baby already seven!?! *gulp*

Finally it was time to cut the Rainbow Swirl Cake!

It wasn't a large party, but there wasn't a single piece of cake leftover. Guess it tasted as good as it looked! (Thanks, Mrs. Crocker!)

We sent the guests home with little paint cans full of art goodies and colorful gumballs.

And of course their giraffe masterpieces!

I wouldn't be surprised if next year was Art Party, Round 3! If you've seen my Par-Tay Board on Pinterest, then you know I've got plenty of rainbow ideas left!
