Today is our last full day on the island...we've created memories I know Mr. Sugarplum and I will always treasure, and I hope the kids were impacted as well. The days we have them all to ourselves are dwindling. Soon enough, the world will heap opinions and influences their way, and we can only hope their foundation is strong.

And while we're sad to leave our family bubble behind, we all miss home and our pup, Maggie. The dog sitter said she's spent a lot of time gazing out the front doors, waiting for our return. I know she's sitting pretty in our fab foyer! The first steps were the rug and adding life...next up is lighting.

We already had a pendant light, but it practically disappeared against the wall and ceiling...not to mention was horribly dated. There's no doubting the power of good lighting, but it can be so expensive. Amazon has become my first stop for home things lately, and I was thrilled to find this lantern pendant for under $100.

Mr. Sugarplum easily installed it, and I found a vintage-style bulb at Hobby Lobby.

I wish it hung a tad lower, but figured I'd better keep that info to myself...seeing as how Mr. SP had already cut the extra links. But it certainly adds the right layer to the space...balancing the room and tying in with the dark doors.

Now the room has life and ambiance...next up, is function! What do you think of our Amazon lantern find?!
