As long as the scale of the two patterns has enough contrast (the check or polka dot isn't the same size as the leopard spot), then you're good to go. You read that right, I'd pair this vest with a small gingham, too. If you want a more subdued look, pair the leopard with a pattern that has a similar color (in my instance, black is the common denominator).
Since the top half of my outfit is neutral colors, then any color skirt or pants would look great...I'm digging the tomato red.
