I've droned on several times about how leopard is a neutral (this post and this one and this one), but that was mostly in respect to pairing it with virtually any color. What about combining leopard with other patterns? Yep, still a neutral.

As long as the scale of the two patterns has enough contrast (the check or polka dot isn't the same size as the leopard spot), then you're good to go. You read that right, I'd pair this vest with a small gingham, too. If you want a more subdued look, pair the leopard with a pattern that has a similar color (in my instance, black is the common denominator).
