Between our son's camps and the trips, we haven't had a free weekend to properly celebrate his July birthday. It started out with a few friends coming over to swim...then the guest list grew until it was an End-of-Summer, Back-to-School, Birthday Bash. In the interest of preserving our small backyard, we're having it at the neighborhood pool.
He had a
Stars & Stripes Pool Party two years ago, but this year it includes girls.
*gulp* And since I'll be transporting all the food and decor, I'm trying to keep it simple. Haagen-Daz offered to supply the ice cream
(oh yeah!!), so we're adding a Sundae Bar, too. Here's some of the inspiration I'm using for tomorrow night's party.
It's hard to believe this is our last weekend before school starts. I can't say it's the last weekend of Summer, since we probably still have at least six more weeks of pool weather, but there's no question the laid-back attitude of Summer will soon be gone. Sports, homework, practices, stricter bedtimes....it's all around the corner. But we still have one more weekend! How are you enjoying the final weeks of Summer? Wish me luck with this co-ed business going on around here!
